For Jones Yan 颜文勇 30th Birthday in Shanghai, I took over his favorite nightclub (390 Shanghai) for a private party on March 2, 2013.

I hired dedicated bar & wait staff to support the event, including a few “blower uppers” whose sole job was to blow up balloons, and more balloons all day.  I designed the space including 1,400 purple balloons (his favorite color) filling the space, purple streamers through the ceiling, along with projections of his life & travels along with messages from his overseas friends, special purple cocktails, turtle themed gift bags for all attendees, a very purple orientated lighting design and lots of turtle themed printed elements, from unlimited drink vouchers, menus and general artwork.

DJ Lee mixed his favorite music selections with audio messages from far-away friends.

Followed by a holiday in Thailand.

It was an event to remember, and one of the most elegant 390 Shanghai ever saw.
