For DJ’s birthday, I planned a surprise party last night featuring a special “social distance” celebration (during COVID-19 pandemic) including his many friends and family around the world, plus his local Shanghai friends for a dinner/drinks evening in a private pagoda at a lovely Shanghai villa restaurant.

6 weeks in secret advance planning and fabrication of the event assets, all in Mandarin Chinese, and with no assistance! (I wanted all our Chinese friends and staff to be treated as guests and be surprised)  Exterior street signage, 5.5m banner of overseas friends & family montage, 8 table tops covered in a timeline of 742 photos of DJ winding their way around the venue, custom coffee mugs, Canadian mint coin from year of his birth, custom birthday card with a 4m scroll of friends and family, guest silver pins in a nest of heart, maple leaf and star metallic confetti, custom made cushion, staff hats, NY Cheesecakes, LED Martini coaster, candle wrappers etc.. etc..
