In 2016, I was engaged by S2BN Entertainment (Michael Cohl) as GM to lead the Chinese production of TRANSFORMERS LIVE, a cross between an action-adventure spectacle, a special attraction and a theatrical show.

Housed in its own purpose-built ~3,500 seat touring theatre venue, enables the show to incorporate new technology into the building’s infrastructure and therefore conceal some of the magic and make the impossible possible under a license agreement with HASBRO, in a great creative collaboration between NUSSLI, Tait, Rockwell Group and Michael Curry, and a deteriorating business collaboration between DMG Entertainment in China and S2BN.

I led preparations of budgets, local staffing, creating sales videos and presentation decks, contracting, coordinating worldwide suppliers, coordinating integrated design, finding partners and sites in Shanghai and Beijing, establishing timelines and other management documentation.

The project languished and died a death leaving a trail of unpaid bills due to broken promises and investor in-fighting. (password required)
