Today (Oct 22, 2009) marks the 10th Anniversary on the world’s first all-Chinese cast in a Broadway-style musical production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, in 1999. It ran for more than 60 performances in a production costing more than USD $2.4 million. Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China, produced in collaboration with Japanese Shiki Theatre, co-directed by China’s Zhou Qixun and Japan’s Isamu Furusawa.
